Despite profits approaching $40 billion dollars, Pfizer pharmaceuticals thinks it doesn’t need to pay US taxes.
In 1849, Charles Pfizer, an immigrant from Germany, founded a small chemical company at the corner of Harrison and Bartlett in Brooklyn. Since that time, Pfizer has grown with the nation. They provided antibiotics to the troops on D-Day.
To this day, Pfizer benefits from the $150 billion dollar annual investment in basic research by U.S. taxpayers.
Pfizer should be a proud American company. But they’re not. They think they’d be better off if they were Irish.
They’re using a trick called “inversion” to skip out on taxes by merging with a smaller company located abroad. The American people are left holding the bag and the tax bill.
Pfizer is counting on the American people staying in the dark until it’s too late. That’s where you come in.
Add your name to the petition telling Pfizer to stay American and pay their fair share. It’s not too late to stop this with your help.
